My hubby and I aren’t really cake people so we decided to have a dessert bar at our recent wedding. We love all of the gourmet desserts available in the bakery at our local Lunds & Byerlys so we decided to order an array of bite-sized desserts from there. We had 135 guests and ordered assorted mini cheesecakes (5 dozen), lemon bars (4 dozen), brownie bites (4 dozen), chocolate dipped strawberries (3 dozen), chocolate chip cookies (2 dozen), petite European pastries (3 dozen) which included fruit tartlets, raspberry marscapones, and lemon raspberry tarts, and a variety of truffles (6 dozen), which included white chocolate cookies and cream, lemon raspberry, and cookie dough. With tax and delivery, the total for the desserts was right around $650.
For the table set up, I purchased several crystal platters and trays at thrift stores for $1 – $3 each. I created some height to the table using some antique crates that my mom had on hand. I had the burlap “Love is Sweet” banner custom-made on Etsy to display on the front of the table. I used mini chalkboard signs to label all of the desserts. The final result was really stunning and tied in really well with our vintage-chic theme. Our guests absolutely loved the dessert table and devoured almost everything. We received so many compliments!
